Chef Mauricio Baretto

Born in 1990 in Mexico City, a maternal cradle dedicated to cooking, Mauricio Barreto began his career in the world of cooking at the age of 20. 

His passion for cooking was born through visits with his parents to the different restaurants in Mexico City , where he asked his father to tell the chef to allow him to see his kitchen and see how he was preparing what he would eventually eat.  At the end of high school, he began working, making exclusive dinners for private villas in the zone of the Riviera Nayarit. During this time he entered the culinary training at the Technological University of Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit in which he obtained degree in Gastronomy.

 

He performed his professional practices in the famous chain of Mexican hotels "Camino Real", and in the restaurant " Beef Bar Mexico" a chain of restaurants based in Monaco. At the end of these professional practices, he joined chef Antonio Pacheco and chef Eduardo Morali.  After working for 3 years at that position, he entered the fires of the Astrid & Gastón, restaurant of the famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio, based in Mexico City and directed by chef Yerika Muñoz.

The invitation to assist in the opening of the Mexican Cuisine Restaurant Maria Maria in Playa del Carmen was at the forefront for more than a year. Once they had completed their achievements, he transferred to the City of Los Angeles, California. Here he was established for a period of one year and worked as a station chef in the fires of Monty's Steak House, one of the first Steak Houses San Fernando Valley.

After a year he received a call to work as Head Chef in the well known Hotel Azulik located in Tulum, Quintana Roo. Chef Baretto is currently working on a new project inTulum at Bejuco Hotel.  Since it's inception he began developing a menu of international cuisine that will add that special touch that characterizes it. With the use and merging of different ingredients from the area to achieve unique culinary experience to enjoy.
